Geometry and Results Export
Users can now export mesh geometry from the RadTherm interface for editing or use in other analytical software. Results can also be exported on an element-level basis for use in CFD as boundary conditions or FEA codes for thermal stress analysis. The results are exported as a NASTRAN NEUTRAL file.
Variable Results Write
Users can create or import curves to define when transient results are written to file. This allows for a mixture of high- and low-temporal resolution data storage within a single file. Periods of high transience can be captured in high resolution while segments of low transience can be stored with fewer data time steps.
Standard View Buttons and Snap Views
Hot buttons for setting geometry to standard views like +X,-X axes have been added to the GUI. Holding down the spacebar now functions as an angular SNAP function during view rotation with the mouse. Precise view settings can still be set using the graphics view dialog box.
Optimization RadTherm models can now be optimized with iSIGHT. One or more cost functions are created within iSIGHT in terms of RadTherm model parameters (inputs) and results (outputs). iSIGHT then executes a series of RadTherm model runs and adjusts the model parameters automatically, based on model results, to minimize the objective function. Optimization parameters include a part’s position, size, material, emissivity, flow rate, and heat transfer coefficient.
New Primitives
New primitive shapes can be created parametrically from the user interfacesphere, plate, and elbow primitives have been added. In addition to these parametrically created primitives, a folder with over 100 primitives of various shapes and mesh densities is also installed. The folder name on a typical installation is C:\Program Files\RadTherm\Primitives.
Help Assistant
A more sophisticated help system is included with version 8.0, including search functionality and user bookmarks.
